Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Web Launch Academy's website, website-build services, and the Mission Control portal ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services.
About Web Launch Academy
Web Launch Academy builds websites that clients own outright. Our Services include:
- Done-for-you website builds and template-based website setups
- Mission Control — a client portal for editing your website in plain English
- Website hosting (on our infrastructure, included with an optional care plan, or self-hosted by you), domain connection, and related technical services
- Optional tools, subscriptions, and care plans such as website scoring, monitoring, security checks, maintenance, and optimization
Our goal is for clients to own their website code and infrastructure — no platform lock-in.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase our Services. By purchasing, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Purchases and Portal Access
Purchase Process
- You must provide accurate information at checkout
- Payment must be processed successfully through Stripe
- You will receive access to the client portal after your purchase is confirmed
Portal Access
- Portal access is granted upon successful purchase and payment
- You will receive login credentials for the client portal (authenticated through Supabase)
- What the portal includes (site editing, previews, publishing, tools, and support options) depends on your specific package
Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Pricing and Payment
- All prices are listed in USD
- Payment is processed securely through Stripe
- You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment information
Refund Policy
- Website builds are covered by the Try-It-First Guarantee: you test-drive the finished site before paying the balance, and the deposit is refundable as described there and in the Website Build Services section below.
- Full details, including Mission Control credit refunds and subscription cancellations, are in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
General Terms
- To request a refund (where applicable), contact us at hello@weblaunchacademy.com
- Refunds of unspent credit are issued immediately from your portal (Settings → Billing) to your original payment method, minus card processing fees: the card network keeps the fee it charged on your payment when that payment is refunded, so it comes out of the refund. Your bank may take a few days to show the credit.
- You understand that our services are personalized and include significant setup and preparation time
Payment Plans
- If you choose a payment plan, you agree to make timely payments according to the schedule
- Your website is never taken down or suspended over a late payment (see Website Build Services below); missed installments remain payable
- Outstanding balances may be sent to collections
Subscriptions & Care Plans (Recurring Billing)
- Some optional services — such as website monitoring and hosting & care plans — are billed on a recurring basis (for example, monthly or annually).
- Recurring plans renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. We tell you the price and billing interval before you subscribe, and nothing recurring is started without your active opt-in.
- You can cancel at any time — through the customer portal or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not issue partial-period refunds. See our Refund Policy.
- Cancelling a plan never deletes your website, your code, or your account balance; if a plan included hosting, we help you move your site to another option (including free self-hosting) at no charge.
- Free hosting is for active sites. A site on the free ($0) hosting option may be put to sleep if, for 3 consecutive months, there are no sign-ins, no changes, no balance top-ups, and almost no visitor traffic. Before that happens we email you at least twice, with at least 14 days' final notice, and any activity — including simply signing in — keeps the site live. A sleeping site shows a temporary resting page; nothing is deleted, your code and data are kept for at least 90 more days, waking it is one click in the portal, and you can always take your code with you instead.
Website Build Services (the $100 Website Setup, template sites & add-on builds)
- Scope: your configured order — the package, add-ons, quantities, and any special instructions you submitted at checkout — is the agreed scope of your build. Changes beyond that scope are handled through Mission Control or quoted separately.
- Deposit & test-drive: the $100 deposit starts your build (it covers the base setup) and is refundable under the Try-It-First Guarantee. The add-on balance (or your payment plan) begins only after you've test-driven the finished site.
- Setup credit & refunds: at launch, your $100 converts to $100 of Mission Control credit, plus a one-time $50 welcome credit ($150 total). Your own $100 of credit is refundable to the extent it is unspent, minus card processing fees; usage draws on your own credit first. The $50 welcome credit is a gift — it is spent only after your own credit and is never refundable. If you request a refund, it is set aside rather than lost, and it is restored automatically if you later add back what you refunded (a chargeback forfeits it permanently). Template-site purchases on /starters/templates work the same way.
- Ownership timing: all code, repositories, and accounts we create for your build transfer to you upon final payment — the paid-in-full balance, or the final installment of your payment plan. Until then, Web Launch Academy retains ownership while you operate the site with full day-to-day control as its manager (editing, publishing, and content are all yours from handoff). Accounts you open yourself — such as Stripe — are yours from day one.
- Payment plans: installments are fixed whole-dollar monthly payments that end automatically after the agreed term. Your site is never taken down or suspended over a late payment; missed installments remain payable and ownership transfer completes when the plan does.
- Timelines: build-time estimates exclude time waiting on inputs only you can provide (for example Stripe onboarding, content, or specs we've requested).
Third-Party Account Setup (Stripe and Similar Services)
- Some build add-ons (for example, Stripe payments) require an account with a third-party provider that can only be opened by you. Stripe's onboarding requires personal identifiable information (PII) — tax information, EIN or SSN, and bank account details — that we will never collect, enter, or store on your behalf.
- For those add-ons, you agree to complete the provider's onboarding yourself, following the step-by-step guide we send after checkout, and to provide the resulting API credentials (for Stripe:
STRIPE_SECRET_KEY, NEXT_PUBLIC_STRIPE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY, and STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET) so we can connect your site. - Your build cannot be completed until that provider setup is finished and verified. Build-time estimates and any deadline commitments exclude time spent waiting on your provider onboarding or the provider's own verification process.
Security Monitoring & Scanning
- For sites we host or that are on a care plan, you authorize Web Launch Academy to perform automated, non-destructive security checks on your website — for example, verifying that credentials are not exposed, that data-access rules and login protections are in place, and that reasonable rate limits exist.
- These checks are run to protect your site and are reported to you with any recommended fixes. They are limited to your own site and the services connected to it; we do not test or access anyone else's systems on your behalf.
- Security checks reduce risk but cannot guarantee that a website is free of all vulnerabilities. You remain responsible for how you use and operate your site.
Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content
- Our guides, templates, videos, and documentation are owned by Web Launch Academy
- We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use these materials in connection with your own website and business
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or resell our materials
Your Work
- Your website's code is yours per the ownership terms in Website Build Services above
- You retain all rights to the content, projects, and businesses you build with it
- Your GitHub repositories are your property
- We may use anonymized examples of client work for promotional purposes (with your permission)
Technology Stack
- Our websites are built on Next.js, GitHub, Vercel, and other technologies
- These technologies are subject to their own licenses and terms
- You are responsible for complying with third-party terms of service
Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide the content, information, and third-party account access your build needs in a timely manner
- Attend scheduled calls or let us know in advance if you can't
- Treat our team and other clients with respect
- Use the client portal and Services appropriately and lawfully
- Maintain your own backups of content you care about
Scheduled Calls
- Calls (such as build kickoffs, confirmation calls, and support calls) are scheduled through our booking system
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance
- Late cancellations or no-shows may forfeit the call
- We reserve the right to reschedule due to availability
SMS Communications Terms
If you opt-in to receive SMS messages:
- You consent to receive service updates, reminders, and account notifications
- Message frequency varies (typically 2-8 messages per month)
- Standard message and data rates may apply from your carrier
- Supported carriers include major US carriers
- You can opt-out at any time by replying STOP
- Reply HELP for assistance
- We are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
- You must notify us of phone number changes
Technical Requirements
To use the client portal and manage your website, you need:
- A computer or phone with internet access
- A modern web browser
We are not responsible if you cannot meet these technical requirements.
Third-Party Services
Our Services rely on third-party services including:
- Namecheap: Domain registration and email
- GitHub: Code repository hosting
- Vercel: Website hosting
- Supabase: Authentication and database
- Airtable: Operations and administration
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Resend: Email delivery
You may need to create accounts with these services (some are free, some may have costs). You are responsible for complying with their terms of service.
Service Availability
- We strive to provide uninterrupted access to our Services
- We do not guarantee that Services will be available at all times
- We may suspend Services for maintenance or updates
- We are not liable for any downtime or technical issues
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Web Launch Academy is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee specific business outcomes or results from using our Services
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service giving rise to the claim
- We are not responsible for third-party service failures or issues
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Web Launch Academy harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of our Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of third-party rights
- Websites or applications you create or operate using our Services
Termination
By You
- You may cancel Services by contacting us
- Refunds are subject to our refund policy
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in disruptive behavior
- Provide false information
- Fail to make payments
- Use Services for illegal purposes
Upon termination:
- Your access to the client portal will be revoked
- You may retain access to materials you downloaded
- Outstanding payments remain due
Privacy
Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of changes by:
- Posting updated Terms on our website
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending email notification for material changes
Your continued use of Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
Arbitration
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Painesville, OH, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to a jury trial or class action.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Web Launch Academy.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.
Assignment
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
